| The other
sister |
If lil sister Rhea is making
her filmi debut in Love You Hamesha, then Moon Moon Sen's firstborn Raima couldn't stay
home basking in reflected stardom, could she? Therefore she's also been bitten by the
starry bug. She's already done a music video (Valentine's Day, which is climbing up the
pop charts real fast) and some commercials. And now she's also moved in tinselnagri with
stardust in her eyes. She's taking her bow in the much talked about film Gomother, where
she plays a key role. With the Sen sisters joining the ranks of Karisma-Kareena Kapoor and
Twinkle-Rinke Khanna, it looks like 1999 could well be the year of star siblings. |
| Queen of
hearts |
Some people just get lucky.
Like the Khandala girl Rani Mukherjee. For someone who made her silver screen debut in a
washout like Raja ki Ayegi Barat, she's done amazingly well for herself. First Ghulam and
then Kuch Kuch Hota Hai happened to her. And she's not looking back. Now she even has a
top star like Govinda openly recommending her for his forthcoming films. Reportedly the
two-some shared some very warm, warm vibes during the shoot of Hadh Kardi Aapne and Chi
Chi is absolutely floored by Rani. Relax! Chi Chi and Rani are not having an affair. They
are just two good friends who also work well together. Of course! |
| Welcome
Baby |
Guess who's making a very
low-key re-entry into films. None other than Zeenat Aman, in a film called "The
Bhopal Express". She is working with Naseeruddin Shah in this Mahesh Mathai venture.
There's no other news right now, so we guess the filmakers are hoping this secret venture
will come as a big surprise at the box office. |
| Title
Tattle |
Some people rely on their
talent to make their mark. Others depend on silly superstitions and kooky ideas. Of late
some filmmakers have begun using the titles of hit songs as the titles of their films,
hoping to relive the money magic. So we have a Partho Ghosh venture, starring Preity Zinta
and Fardeen Khan titled "Chal Chaiyan Chaiyan",. And Govinda- Raveena flick
named "Akhiyon Se Goli Maare". |
| Ram Gopal
Verma's "Kaun" released all over India on February 26 |
After directing the hit film
"Satya", Ram Gopal Verma's latest film "Satya" is released all over
India on February 26. The film stars Urmila Matondkar and Manoj Bajpai in the lead. The

| Bollywood's
number one actress Kajol gets married to macho hero Ajay Devgan |
Hindi cinema's effervescent
actress Kajol and macho man hero Ajay Devgan were married as per Hindu rites at a simple
ceremony in Mumbai, cementing a five-year courtship that had all the ingredients of a
perfect love story. The wedding was a low-key affair due to the recent demise of Ajay's
grandmother. |
| Out of
wedlock |
Madhuri Dixit is sick of being
married off by the media each time she takes a vacation to meet her sister or goes abroad
for a stage show. But the determined gal is here to stay, "for a lot more time to
come" if she can help it, and knowing her determination she will probably outlast the
media and its ignoble intentions! |
| "Mast"
proceeding briskily |
"Mast" is proceeding
at a pretty brisk pace. Farah Khan is choreographing the songs of this musical and
recently a song being picturised on Urmila Matondkar and slender leopard-clad guys was
quite an eye-popper, a real visual treat in true Farah Khan style. Urmila, in a short wig,
looked surprisingly like Tabu at the first glance. Then one realised, she was wearing a
wig similar to Tabu's in Hu Tu Tu. Hair-raiser, wot? |
| Pulling
the rights strings |
It's not only Kajol that he's
going to pull away this month. Ajay Devgan is on to bigger things. He notched up his first
at the Screen-Videocon Awards and finally underscored the point that he may be low
profile, but is as good as any. The hotter news is that he's secured the Mumbai
distribution rights for J.P. Dutta's Refugee. And he beat several heavyweights to that.
Now, he's taken on his own starrer, the Tips' film, Kachche Dhaage, and he isn't resting
at pulling the strings behind Manisha Koirala's back. To begin with, they are releasing a
record number of 101 prints in the Mumbai circuit. Way to go, Ajay! |

This pati-patni-purana premi
triangle has been in the making for a long time. It has Jackie playing the perky Kajol's
husband with Atul Agnihotri causing all the problems as the purana premi. Kajol is said to
have given another knock-out performance in the film. The music of the film is by
Pradeep-Ejaz. |

very special appearance in the film. Son Ajay Devgan heads the cast opposite Manisha
