Bollywood blockbuster "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" bags all major prizes in Filmfare Awards The Bollywood romantic blockbuster "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai", which keeping the country's cinema halls flocked with crowds, have bagged all the major prizes for this years' Manikchand Filmfare Awards. The film has been awarded the Best Film Award, the Best Actor Shah Rukh Khan and the Best Actress Kajol were also judged from their acting in "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai". The director of the film Karan Johar was awarded the Best Director Award. Apart from these, Life-time Achievement Award was conferred to veteran actor Manoj Kumar and famous cabre-dancer-cum- actress in Bollywood Helen.

 Deepa Mehta's controversial film, "Fire", has been cleared by the censor board for film certification without any cuts. Actress Shabana Azmi said that it was a wonderful decision by the board which showed its maturity.
Salman gets permission to leave country

 

 A local court in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, has allowed actor Salman Khan to leave the country to shoot for a film from February 5 to April 15.
Kajol's "Chhal" This pati-patni-purana premi triangle has been in the making for a long time. It has Jackie playing the perky Kajol's husband with Atul Agnihotri causing all the problems as the purana premi. Kajol is said to have given another knock-out performance in the film. The music of the film is by Pradeep-Ejaz.
Jaya turns to theatre Jaya Bachchan (Bhaduri) is all set to make her debut on stage. She will play the title role in the Hindi version of the late Shafi Inamdar's Baa Retire Thai in Gujarati and the Marati version, Bai Retire Hot Aahe. Ramesh Talwar, the well-known theatre and film director will direct Jaya. The first shows are scheduled to be held in the USA.
Salman Khan's "Jaanam Samjha Karo" Salman Khan and Urmila Matondkar are the 'made for each other' couple who meet in Buckingham city and set the screen on fire. Majrooh Sultanpuri's son Andalib makes his debut as a director with "Jaanam Samjha Karo". The film is produced by Bubby Kent.
Sanjay Dutt's "Jung" Director Sanjay Gupta has started shooting for his new film "Jung". The film stars Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Raveena Tandon and Shilpa Shetty. The music of the film is by Anu Malik. The film is expected to have a lot of high-tech action.
Hindustan Ki Kasam Action director Veeru Devgan turns a full fledged director with this so-called patriotic saga. Amitabh Bachchan makes a very special appearance in the film. Son Ajay Devgan heads the cast opposite Manisha Koirala and ex-Miss Universe Sushmita Sen. True to Devgan's reputation the film is said to abound in first-rate action.
